Nathan Fake – The Sky Was Pink [MP3][320]

The Sky Was Pink
Label: Border Community
Format: Vinyl, 12"
Country: UK
Released: Aug 2004
Genre: Electronic
Style: Leftfield, Progressive House, IDM, Downtempo, Minimal

Of course, the remix of James Holden is absolutely self-dependent track on this release. With its help the world has got to know the name of N. Fake. Of course, if a moment of inspiration of J. Holden would have concurred with appearance of another track, not Fake’s, the world would have got similar masterpiece. In support of this – Holden’s Techno Tool Remix is based absolutely on Holden’s main remix. The Dancefloor has got a similar example – Timo Maas with his remix of Azzido Da Bass “Dooms Night” (have you ever heard the original version?).But it’s not fair not to keep in mind the Fake’s creation. It should be named here - Original Live Take and Icelandic Version. Beautiful (!) melodic progressive downtempo tracks with especial FX, catchy melodie, exclusive IDM-like production. Master’s at work!

Carbon Based Lifeforms - Interloper [MP3][320]

Interloper

Label: Ultimae Records
Format: CD, Album
Country: France
Released: 2010
Genre: Electronic
Style: Acid, Downtempo, Ambient, Chillout

Carbon Based Lifeforms is one of the best ambient music composers I have ever crossed across. It's something studied, known, but in the same time it is natural, it's fucking well done, with nice melodies and frequencies that cross your brain side to side.

My favorite sequence starts with Euphotic. If you get trapped by Euphotic melodies, the album will end very fast. The combo Euphotic - Frog - M is my favorite ambient combo sound ever. This is not my favorite album from Carbon Based Lifeforms but it's certainly a ambient/natural sound masterpiece.

I was highly anticipating this release and a little sceptical if the Carbon Based Lifeforms would be able to achieve a high level again such as in "World Of Sleepers".

Trust me, they did.
They announced they experimented a little more with guitars and vocals this time so I was even more worried that they may be losing their style. But it turns out to be at an absolutely minimum scale and fits very very well.
The sounds they arranged this time are mindblowing and for me personally even more sound-of-the-universe-level.
I have listened to it as much as I could since the release and I am always discovering more electronic details. If I had to pick a favourite track (which will probably change from time to time),
right now it would be "Supersede". You may be reminded of "Epicentre" when listening to it but they gave it such a unique touch which makes it an absolutely epic arrangement.

The overall feeling is very intense yet peaceful. They put so much love in this album, it is worth every cent!

For me it is the release of 2010 so far.

Boards of Canada – A Few Old Tunes Vol.2 [Cassete][MP3][VBR][Very Rare]

A Few Old Tunes Vol. 2
Label: Music70
Format: Cassette
Country: UK
Released: ?
Genre: Electronic
Style: IDMDowntempo, Ambient, Dark Electronic

That tiny room at the beach was absolutely the perfect place for my first time. When we came together, I could feel the hairs growing on my chest. I saw my future. I saw my past.

For a few minutes it was like being alive. They lived happily ever after. All my questions had been answered. All my fears disappeared. All that was left was a kiss. Every move we made was a kiss.

Ok, I'm jealous of sharing this with you. This is a ultra rare release that I can't even remember where I got it. It's the real cassete rip of a unreleased album. Still, it's one of my favorite albums ever. The album ambient is dark, low ending music with lots of dark textures and black-and-white feeling, low-frequency background and a nice Boards of Canada feeling.

Tip: listen to Sir Pracelot Brainfire in the morning!

Hope you enjoy it.

Boards of Canada - Random 35 Tracks Tape [Cassete][MP3][320][Ultra Rare]

No oficial cover.

Random 35 Tracks Tape
Label: Music70
Format: Cassette
Country: UK
Released: 1995?
Genre: Electronic
Style: IDMDowntempo, Ambient

Random 35 Tracks Tape (real name unknown) refers to a collection of 35 tracks leaked on P2P networks around September 2004. Unlike other "Old Tunes" tapes, the tracks are completely unlabeled; however, a few match known tracks from other sources, including commercial releases. No liner notes or tape scan have ever surfaced.
Despite its uncertain provenance, the tape is generally believed to be authentic.

Background
Random 35 Tracks Tape seems to be sourced from a cassette tape containing a (presumably) hand-selected set of pre-BoC Maxima tracks. The leaking of these tracks to P2P networks (Soulseek, originally) provided much drama on WATMM.
All files are encoded as 320kbps MP3.
For a long time, it was assumed that this tape was the missing Old Tunes Vol. 1 (since A Few Old Tunes and Old Tunes Vol. 2 were already known), although this was never confirmed. This was finally proven false when, on 08 Aug 2009, Twoism forum member dealer posted new photos of a cassette and liner notes showing the A Few Old Tunes and Old Tunes Vol. 1 were, in fact, the same release.
MDG has said that it is not known who compiled the tracks, calling it "a mystery, just a mixture".
Zoetrope, a user on radiomute.com, refferred to not only the commonly known A few Old Tunes and Old Tunes vol. 2, but also a third volume, which he appeared to reffer to this leaked release as. Some also seem to believe that this is a 'Closes vol. 2'.

Four Tet - Rounds [MP3][320]

Rounds
Label: Domino USA
Format: CD
Country: US
Released: 2003
Genre: Electronic, Folktronica
Style: Downtempo, IDM, Glitch, Leftfield

My girlfriend shown me a music on this album on youtube and I instantly felt in love with it. But 128 wasn't enough, and it isnt. For you to hear all the details, you must have this 320kbps rip. Seriously. Also, if you use iTunes (if you don't, I strongly recommend you give a try) there is a nice option I've found recently. Go to Preferences > Playback and there you will find a "Sound Enhancer" slider. You should turn this on! :)

Anyway, a incredible IDM artist with a lot of identity, this album is magnificent.

MP3 320kbps from pure FLAC.

"Rounds" is one of those albums that strips away all that was required to make it: studio trickery, electronic programs, samples, the lifeless medium of the computer and somehow reveals an intimate album, organic in sound, full of life and character.
Keiran Hebden's releases prior to "Rounds" were good, but failed to deliver on the promise of the cohesive sound he was searching for. On "Rounds" Hebden manages to find that sound and the result is one of my personal favorite electronic records.
The ultimate riding the subway album, cleaning the house, lounging on a weekend afternoon. It's not invigorating music, but it is not glorified wallpaper either. The tracks breathe, speak, but they reveal themselves much in the way the classic Satie tracks do. Stark minimalism, but never boring. It is an album to feel comfortable listening to, one that should cure any alienation out of a room. It is an album to grow with and album to grow on you.
Over the past half decade, I've listened to this album dozens of times and yet, I've never enjoyed it more than I do now.

Boards of Canada – A Few Old Tunes Vol.1 [Cassete][MP3][160][Very Rare]

A Few Old Tunes Vol. 1
Label: Music70
Format: Cassette
Country: UK
Released: ?
Genre: Electronic
Style: IDM, Downtempo

Ok, I'm jealous of sharing this with you. This is a ultra rare release that I can't even remember where I got it. It's the real cassete rip of a unreleased album. Still, it's one of my favorite albums ever. It has public-exclusive tracks like Spectrum and P.C.. The album ambient is dark, low ending music with lots of dark textures and black-and-white feeling, low-frequency background and a nice Boards of Canada feeling.
It also includes some remixes like Trapped, originally by Colonel Abrams in mid 80s.
In any way, a incredible and rare piece of sound. I can recommend the tracks:

  • I Love U
  • Original Nlogax
  • 5-9-78
For 5-9-78, I ask you: please listen to this track cerefully. I dare you'll be the same person again.

Hope you enjoy it.

Commonly referred to as A Few Old Tunes, due to its label; however, according the Twoism forum user dealer, who posted new photos of the cassette and liner notes, it is also the true Old Tunes Vol. 1 (and not the tape previously assumed to be OTV1). But, on the other hand, the WATMM forum user phaelam posted new scans from a different angle which depict A Few Old Tunes as the cover and the cassette label.
